I thought it meant who your character was most compatible with, so I chose Lady Hayakawa (wanted my character to end up with her).
However, the fact that I ended up not only marrying Lady Hayakawa, but becoming a retainer of Ujiyasu and best buds with Kotaro Fuma, makes me think that maybe that my character shares compatibility with Hayakawa. I did have my CAW fraternize with Mitsuhide for what was probably ten or fifteen turns before they finally became friends, so I have no idea how the system works. I wish there was some in-depth guide to it out there.I'm thinking of just starting custom games up and testing compatibilities of characters until I've got it all figured out, but that would take a lot of restarting of games. I did two CAWS with Uesugi Kenshin affinity. Two invasions in and they were already marrying, the sluts D:But yeah, I'm inclined to believe the CAW affinity affects this.
Even for Magistrates: affinities that do not match makes the Magistrate sad/angry if in the same room with another.By knowing the Sengoku Jidai story it is possible to understand to guess the affinity between the officers, and everything is easier. The only problem is to understand if affinity changes overtime (according to the year we are playing).
